Cryptic crossword No 927

Really enjoyed this PM. Lots to like - 9a, 13a, 27a, 3d, 7d but my pick of the bunch is 29a for its sporting surface and deceptive wordplay!

Thanks for the puzzle PM, an impressive conceit carried off in style - bravo! I particularly liked 1a (lol), 4a (double lol), 9a (neat), 11a (very neat), 13a (very clean), 19a (liked the surface symmetry), 25a (neat), 28a (clever), 29a (very neat), 1d (neat and fun), 2d (tricky but fun), 3d (smooth), 8d (smooth), 21d (neat) and 23d (fun def) - really nicely done!

Haha it took me a while to spot how Jaspa-esque this was (although much better, of course) 😁 superbly done, chapeau 🎩

Thanks PM - that’s extremely impressive work given the self-imposed constraint. Takes me back to ShortMark days - whatever happened to him?! Found it very tricky (of course) but it almost unfolded until the NE defeated me. Lots to like, though - the pick for me being 1A, 13A, 19A, 26A, 29A, 17D, 18D and 23D.

Great stuff, PM, enjoyed this a lot. It's quite a constraint you've imposed on yourself and to carry it off as you have done is impressive. Bravo! Enjoyable throughout but particular favourites were 12a, 19a, 18d and 22a - the last for the definition, which made me laugh out loud when the penny dropped.

Great puzzle PostMark. My favourite clues are 11 ac, 15 ac, 22 ac and 1 down. Really enjoyed it.😀

Thanks PM, this was very satisfying to solve (er, almost solve, having thrown myself for a loop by inventing a different theme entirely, which I'll explain in the reply). As others have said, the constraint didn't announce itself - my picks were 26a, 30a, 8d, and of course 22a.
