Nice one PM. Lots of lovely stuff in here. Not the write-in by any means for me, and a couple of reveals at the end. Will pick out 1A (great spot and lovely way into a “Quiptic”), 8A, 14A, 4D, 5D, 7D, 18D and 23D. Spoilers in reply.

1a is a cracker! I think 16d is a brilliant example of the device. Also enjoyed 10d 20d 23d 8a 14a and 2d. I agree with Coot that this is tougher than your typical quiptic (but as you know, I’m quite dim, so that’s not surprising) but very much worth the effort. Thanks for a fun puzzle

ZZZ! (kidding, just a joke about the mini-theme). Maybe a little too hard for a Quiptic, with few ambitious bits of wordplay that were harder (for this solver anyway) to unpack than expected, more along the lines of a 15x15. 1a was a great start, and other faves include 14a, 3d & 6d. I'm not sure 'some tuna' is as fair as (eg) 'two pieces of tuna' and there isn't much crypticity in 'veneration' in 24a, but I could be the only one thinking that! Entertaining in general & a good variety of clues.

That was tough but fun, PM, thanks for the puzzle. Finally remembered to finish this one and glad I did, with a few reveals to close out the grid. Some of these clues were rather fiendish, but tons of satisfying solves, including 1a, 8a, 13a, 19a, 21a, 22a, 4d, 7d, 18d and 20d (lovely original indicator usage).
