Cryptic crossword No 1,288

Some really clever clues here Dyno - I particularly enjoyed 9a, 10a, 11a, 14a, 16a, 21a!, 23a!, 3d, 5d, 14d, 18d & 20d. I found the bottom half a bit easier than the top, but overall a nicely challenging puzzle. A few very minor queries in reply, to avoid spoilers

Thanks for a really fun puzzle Dyno, not done one of yours for a while and thanks for keeping me entertained on a long train ride back to Scotland. Lots to like, particularly 10a (neat), 12a (evocative extended definition), 14a (fun surface), 21a (very neat), 23a (smooth and satisfyingly tricky for this solver), 25a (neat), 1d (neat), 6d (satisfyingly assembled), 7d (neat), 14d (likewise), and 23d (nice) - keep em coming!

Catching up so slightly late to this, but I’m very glad I picked this one — marvellous puzzle, lots of fun and and a good range of difficultly. Standing ovation for 5d 🧍👏 - one of those clues I wish I’d written! Also liked 12a, 22a and 23a (rare for me to tick this device but that’s a beauty). Thanks!
