Cryptic crossword No 2,446

Great fun PM, thanks. I made a slow start, but picked up the pace and eventually found my error in the NW that was causing me trouble. Favourites included 12a, 13a, 19a, 1d, 2d, and 18d.

Crackerjack, PM. Nicely saucy (26a!). What’s gotten into you, man? Playful, smart and original. Tight surfaces, as always. Particular treats included 1a, 1d, 7d, 14d (slightly cheeky but I like it!) and 19a (brilliant). I also really liked 20d, largely because this is the sort of construction I sometimes try (just not so well), only to be told that I’m being Yoda-ish! Lovely job. Ta lots.

Very good, and ever so slightly more accessible than your average challenge I thought? 25a and 26a were my favourite surfaces, me being somewhat puerile sometimes 😆 ... 19a was an excellent construction with a nice twist. Also liked 24a, 1d, 2d, 3d, 17d and 23d. Thanks!

Classy stuff PM. My solve experience was nice and smooth and kept my cold/flu addled brain happily occupied all afternoon. These stood out, although there was quality everywhere. 1a & 19a both fantastic misdirection, 24a, 1d, 16d, 21d. More ...

Nice one, PM, some clever stuff here. My top 3 would be 2d, 19a, 27a. Honourable mention to 14d though I’m not sure I approve of that kind of thing! One small query…

Great stuff PM, thanks. I lived up to my name by apparently finding this rather trickier than most, particularly the NW, which took me a long time to break into at all. All present and correct in the end though, with a little help from Google. Tricky to pick favourites, but: 10a, the 11a 12a combo, 19a, 6d, 7d, 14d, and 18d. When I first saw it, I thought 3d would appear in my favourites list too … 🤣

Thanks PostMark for an excellent set of clues. I found this challenging but I only failed with the nho 15a as well as 18a due to a lack of GK. I needed your notes to understand 19a. Favourites included 22a, 27a, 1d (COTD), 6d, 14d, and 24d. Nice work as expected.
